Paisley print shirts are back in vogue, but did they ever go away?
Good news guys! The Paisley print is back and we at Salamander Shirts are, of course, all over it and have been for ages!
First off though, let's talk, briefly, about the history of Paisley:
Where did the name paisley come from? Originally, the pattern comes from Persia, where it was called "Buta" or "Botah". From there it made its way to India, where it was eventually discovered by British soldiers who, on their return from India, brought it back to Britain as gifts for their wives & girlfriends, at that time it was fine cashmere scarves adorned with this exotic pattern.
The town of Paisley, near Glasgow, became the European center of production for souvenirs from India, giving the exotic fabric pattern its new name, Paisley. Now that’s interesting!
This fine fabric pattern still captivates today, with its beautiful leaf-like motifs. Fashionistas worldwide are back in paisley and we at Salamander are most definitely in!
The floral pattern simply spreads a good mood and makes even basic looks, absolute attention getters. Paisley is really easy to combine with most non patterned outfits.

The trendy print works particularly well with our shirts, see our “catwalk” here, and as always, a nice denim completes this on trend outfit, tucked in, or out. Paisley simply gives every outfit a fresh and spring-like look, it just shouts a look that is cool, feminine, and casual.
Right now we have some of our most popular Grenouille range of shirts in Paisley, we have Oxfords in cool blues, magical maroons, and beautiful Paisley pinks, check one out here.
Obviously our fab Dorset based design team have come up with wonderful Paisley contrast collars and cocktail cuffs, to ensure you attract the kind of comments and attention you deserve this season. Take a look at one from the range here. Finished in a shape fit, darted front & back,to provide a more tailored and figure hugging look, this will be a shirt that will keep on giving throughout the year. One you will always reach for on any occasion.
